I am soon to be exhibiting in Seeing RED, a group show at the espacio gallery, Bethnal Green Road. The work is described as follows
Recent work has concentrated on the experience of walking in various landscapes and is influenced by readings of the landscape writer Robert Macfarlane and the social anthropologist Tim Ingold amongst others. Artists whose work has influenced me include Klimt, Monet, Joan Mitchell, Cy Twombley, Richard Long, and the graphic work of Van Gogh.
The work I exhibit in the espacio gallery show ‘seeing red’ is the latest step in the development, or perhaps erratic progression, of a series of screen prints relating to a walk from Euston to Holborn through four of London’s Squares. The imagery comes from an obsessive interest in the layering and patterning observed in the tree canopy.
